Garmin Zumo 550 - Map upgrade says memory full?
Hi All,
I have had a Garmin Zumo 550 for a number of years now and have upgraded mapping (all of Europe) and firmware several times without problem.
On the last map upgrade I recieved a message during the install telling me that my GPS no longer has the memory necessary to hold the new mapping as mapping is constantly becoming more detailed. It then gave me the option to install smaller reigons within Europe but as I travel a lot in Europe this would be of no use to me.
At the time I was wondering if the on board memory could spill over onto an SD Card, however I did try the install again with an 8GB card but no joy.
Any help will be much appreciated...
Declan

have you deleted any music, etc. on the zumo? also, there is a very good zumo forum (I think zumoforum.com, but google it), and they will almost certainly be able to tell you what to do (if anything is possible).

Thanks,
Music is normally confined to the SD card and that leaves all of the Zumo's memory for mapping. I'll try that zumoforum you spoke about...Thanks again..
