Looking for large waterproof map holder.

Just bought a spiral bound road atlas and found that it wont fit into my clear tankbag pocket. Don't reallly want to buy another tankbag. Anyone know where i can get a large map holder of some kind?

The atlas measures 30.5cm (approx 12") by 25cm (approx 10") by 2cm (approx 1")

Cheers

James

What you need is an A3 document cover from Ortlieb. I got mine from Snow and Rock but I'm sure they're available elsewhere. I put my ringbound Scandinavia road map in there and strap it on top of my tankbag. It works great. I don't think anyone makes a tankbag that will take a "real" map so this is a good solution.

Amazon sell them here...

I've got a SealLine, and it works great:

SealLine All-Purpose Gear Protection

Not sure where you are, but shouldn't be hard to find for purchase on the internet.

It is also possible to take atlas apart of binding and only use relevant pages in your existing map holder. You can fold pages to fit. Atlas of that size is probably quite heavy as well and you only use a few pages at a time. You can keep most of it in your luggage.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
