Tablet for South America Navigation?
Hi All,
Longtime Adventure rider, but fairly new to the HUBB. I am planning a solo Virginia-Ushuaia ride in 2022 on my R1200GS and I am looking at navigation options. My cell phone with offline Maps.me as well as a Garmin Inreach will be my backups.
I currently have a BMW Nav6 on the bike and it is the 3rd one after the previous 2 failed, so I don't trust it and don't want to use it. I considered borrowing the Garmin 276CX I have on my other bike, but, at this point, I am not even sure I want to go with a Garmin at this point.
I am thinking of going with a Carpe Iter tablet and I am wondering if anyone has any experience with it? They are set up for adventure riding and can download OSM maps directly with a wifi hookup. I've been looking at the website and it seems to be a decent, albeit a little expensive, option. https://carpe-iter.com
Thoughts?
