Tactical Pilotage Chart for Nepal & Tibet
I'm looking for the Tactical Pilotage Chart H10D
This web page has the charts to down load for free but the one of Nepal to Tibet isn't available

Hi Ashley:
Good Luck. TPC's have been out of production since the early 1980s - I remember using them whilst flying in Angola in the late 1980s, and we had trouble getting paper replacements for them at that time.
Your best bet might be to try and contact map stores or antique book dealers in Nepal or Tibet, with the hope that they might have an old one in stock. Or, perhaps look around to see if there is a specialist aviation supply house in your region that might have a dusty copy in the archives somewhere.

Try here to buy a digital version

Were they open, a library like the RGS or British Library (London) will have a copy to look at.
You may find it's not worth it for overland travel or trekking (as opposed to flying).
I found them inaccurate and inconsistent when it comes to infrastructure. Now they will be out of date too.
The best thing is they're huge and the 500k scale is great for planning and annotating.
The Soviet equivalent is widely found online for free but is hard work to use, even if you can read Russian. I think Touratech sold versions with English annotations.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
