Tank bag size maps

Hi Folks firstly happy new year. At the Autmn hubb near the cheddar gorge last year I met a guy who had an amazing set of maps. There were small, lamanitated and fitted in the map pocket of his tank bag. I recall this guy telling me he got them from one of the supermarkets and you could buy them in sets for each country. Unfortunately I cannot remember his name ( too much falling down juice all round) and I can't remember the name of the shop he bought them in. I do however remember that they were excellent value and thinking I must get some of those! I have spent weeks looking at Aldi and Lidl and on their websites before posting here.

So has any one seen something similar or if you were the person at the Cheddar hubb and you are reading this can you let me know where you got them from please? Thanks in advance.

I know you are correct with the names of the two stores as the outlet for these maps you look for. I have a set and they are ok. They are rather good but there are better ones out there (depends on what detail you want).
Also I guess if your in whichever country in europe at the right time those same stores will sell the same maps for that countries roads.
To purchase from either of the two stores you mention you have to wait until they come around again (about a year to 18 months). by which time you may have found a map that has more detail or more to suit your requirements.
Those stores also sell laminators (occasionally)!
Have a look in Stanfords "the map shop" hope there is one close to you.

Good luck on your mission.

No idea about small maps but this may help.
1- you can get a roll of self-adhesive film to waterproof your map- this I have done (there are also sprays you can use- that I have not)
2- learn how to fold a map [the pilot's way] and it fits nicely in map bag

Hi GM,

I always liked the Tuff Map products, which are A5 sized and waterproof. They did three,

1, UK
2, Western Europe
3, London Street Map

However when you go to their website, they show as no longer trading,

TUFFMAP Waterproof Map Tearproof Map UK Map London Street Map Europe Map Tuff Map Waterproof Maps London Maps

Shame. Still I'm glad I've got them.

Regards

Reggie

Found these

After much searching I found these Motorcycle Map, Michelin Maps, Motorcycle Tours, Motorcycle Touring, Motorbike Rides, Motorcycle Atlas, Motorbike Routes
and have ordered some of these. The Best Rides UK and The Best Campsites GB and Ireland - Motorcycle Camping - WHAT ARE YOU DOING? - Online Store - Motorcycle Map, Michelin Maps, Motorcycle Tours, Motorcycle Touring, Motorbike Rides, Motorcycle Atlas, Motorbike Routes
They are supposed to be waterproof and tearproof and they sort of look like how I remember the ones I was looking for. I will let you all know what they are like and if they are any good when they arrive.

Regards as ever
GM

Hi,

You can either by maps for your tank bag or a tankbag where you can use normal Maps and even fit DIN A4 letters such as the Enduro universal from Touratech: 01-055-1301-0 for 105.- Euro.

Greetings, Tobi

Another option with big pocket: Enduristan Sandstorm Tankbag

Enduristan: Sandstorm (old one)

Enduristan: Sandstorm 2 (soon coming)
