I’m not familiar with the SporTrack but I checked it on the web and it seem to only accept vector maps provided by Magellan.
Regular topographic maps that include land features, used when you go off road, are bitmap images, which cannot be uploaded to your GPS.
We use these topo maps on a computer or PDA to plan the trip, specify waypoints and upload them to the GPS for the trip using navigation software like Ozi Explorer or Quo Vadis.
If you feel like taking a PDA, or even a computer, along then you’ll be able to view your progress on the topo map.
Does this make sense? Search this navigation forum, as there’s a lot of information on the subject and ask us again for details or clarification.
Hope this helps.
