re; above few posts, i have been playing with my zumo and
FOR ANYONES INFO;
the zumo is basically a flash drive that comes up on your PC/mac as another drive folder. you can copy stuff from it onto your desktop without hurting it (in fact you should do this anyway to make a back-up folder, and definately do this before doing anything below).
DO NOT DELETE GmapBMAP, this is the basemap all the detailed maps overlay onto. you can delete GmapPROM and GmapSUPP, these are your regional maps.
then in mapsource, select maps for a region you want to keep, eg UK or whatever, and send these to your zumo. they will appear in the folder as GmapSUPP. rename this file GmapPROM, this basically is your preloaded maps.
any more map regions for hols or whatever that get loaded into the zumo will appear as GmapSUPP files, and it will keep the PROM file seperate so you know which maps to get rid of afterwards.
