April - May Trip to Mauritania
Any advice on the following would be gratefully received.
We are thinking of heading out to Morocco for 4-5 weeks next April/May. The plan is to leave Switzerland at the beginning of April - driving down to Spain and crossing over to Tangier. I have located a W124 Merc (E200 Estate - manual); which I can pick up on export plates.
From Tangier we are thinking of following a similar route to our 2 weeks Holiday from a few years ago. Rabat - Fez - Meknes - Zagora - Ourzazate - Marrakech. And then head down the Sahara - ending in Mauritania - not yet sure where, selling the car, and then flying back.
We will be going in reasonably comfort - opting for hotels etc rather than camping - we work hard enough to justify the expense - and is a drop in the ocean compared with trying to get the race-car repaired and ready for next season.
Any hints/tips we really need to know about?? Any idea of likely weather conditions around that time of year? Any contacts for selling the car in Mauritania? Hints for a good final destination before flying home?
