between Mhamid and Foum Zguid
End of february we rent a 4WD in ouarzazate. We want to spend two nights in the desert between Mhamid and Foum Zguid. Can you give me information about bivouacs/camps on the track? We're not sure if we need to bring a tent of our own. Also information about or a waypoint of Mdouar El Kbir would be welcome.
Thanks, Marieke

we spent three nights out on the piste between Mhamid and Foum Zguid. We expected to do the piste in a day and a bit, but it was so nice we spent longer on it.
The first night was in a big oued with nice pine trees and dunes a few hours out of Foum Zguid and east of the piste - River Draa I think. The oued widens out with dunes about the size of a small house.
The second night we spent at the dunes in Chigaga - a few hours on from the first night camp. These are quite big dunes (about 90 m or so) and not as much visited as the other erg to the north in Maroc.

Chigaga
I totally agree : At Chigaga there are the more nice dunes of Morocco and not crowded with groups of tourists and "auberges" .
