Hi Peter,
The document states that the owner permits you to drive his/her car, disregarding if you are the co owner or not. Therefore I would no expect any problems. My personal experience with these documents date back to 2004, when a friend of mine drove a car registered in the name of his girlfriend in Morocco. But I don’t think that the situation has changed since then. But to be on the safe side, asked the Automobile Association of whatever eastern European country you are residing.
