Hello everbody, I have calculated my route from UK through France, Spain, Morocco, over Atlas Mountains, down to Mauritani, Mali round Timbuktu and back (I estimate 9,000 miles? first is this correct and what is my fuel bill likely to be? 12m to gallon at its worst hopefully, going in JAN 2006 all being well.

Not sure about your overall costs, but 9000 miles doesn't seem much. I covered 10,000 just going to Morocco and back. Depends on how much pottering around you intend to do I suppose.

Hi!

I am not used to gallons, miles and such kind of staff - sorry - you should then calculate yourself. Anyway we did the route Poland-south Europe-Morocco-West Sahara - Mauri-Senegal (Dakar)-Mali (Kayes) and back passing almost 20.000 km. Just straight way, no detours.

Hi Dave should we all be assuming that if you only get 12mpg that you may be running a V8 PETROL. (Maybe not, it was just a thought).
By the way we did 4000 miles from Dorset to Genova, 17 days in Tunisia and return.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
