Guelmin is alternative transliteration for what most maps call Goulimine, though it's also referred to as Goulimime and Goulmim. If you were heading south, then yes, the sign would have probably been on the edge of the Anti Atlas.
I spent three days there in 1972, negotiating for an ammunition chest full of 'Goulimine beads'.
