Mali Viza at border

Hello, unfortunate TNT lost my package with passports and visas for Mali and Mauritania and the start date for Budapest-Bamako rally is so close! I have to make now passports. Can I pick up the Mali visa from the border, while coming from Mauritania?

Hi
we got last year a single entry Mali Visa at the boarder post in Dianioume coming from Ayoun el Atrous (Mauretania).

It was 18000 CFA (Meahnwhile I think 15000 would have been the correct price but ...)

Regards
Bernd

Hi,
Unless anything has changed since this time last year, Brend is correct.
Friends we were with got theirs at the border in about 40 mins, can't remember the price i'm afraid. I believe they may only have been transit visas, but they were very easy to get.

Last year at around this time, I was traveling from Mauri to Mali. I can confirm that you can get your visa in about 2 hours in Nouakchot. A fellow traveler I met later in Burkina F had travelled pretty much the same route as me, but got all his visas at the borders. I know he traveled about in Mali for over a week, so he must have gotten a turist visa. Not a transit.

But as others before me have said; don't know if things have changed.

Mali Visa at border

15000 FCFA, or 25 Euros, valid for a month
Did it 2 days ago (10 December) in Nioro du Sahel
You do not even have to go and see Immigration in Bamako afterwards
This is true change
Mali is getting better all the time

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
