Marrakesh: place to stay with 4x4
Hi Everyone,
could someone suggest a place to stay in Marrakesh where a 4x4 with all sorts of stuff inside will be safe?
I am preferably looking for a hotel with a secure parking. Somewhere quiet and out of town would be fine.
many thanks!

hi Richard
Hotel or Camping?
I was in a Camping in March 2005 15 km from Marrakech near the main road. The taxi to town and back was 10 Euro. There were many Europeans with Mobilhomes.
(name and wpts available if..)

Hello Richard.
We have just booked the Tikida Garden Hotel in kech for new year. Although we haven't stayed there before, we have been assured of secure parking so we may service the car before continuing on our journey.
Hope this helps,
Nick.

I would suggest the Hotel Menara (in the Lonley Planet Guide, I think). A bit dilapidated European style hotel at about £40 per night for two people B&B. It does have air conditioning and of course alkl en-suite. One advantage is that you can buy wine with your meal. About a ten/fifteen minute walk from Jmaa-el Fmaa - the main square.
They have a secure car park with a gauardian plus assistants. When we were there in 2003 he patroled the car park with a large club. We had the same worries about leaving our Range Rover with all the kit. We paid him about 20 dirhams per night (£1.20 - which was considered generous!)
We have stayed since but without 4x4.
The hotel is about 20 minute walk from the

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
