Mauretanian visa in Casa

I haven't followed the Atlantic route topics for 2 years so forgive me if U find my questions a bit outdated although I tried to browse the forum beforehand. Last I remember it was Impossible to obtain Mauri visa neither in Paris, Madrid, nor Rabat without return air ticket & we were made to stay in Morocco. Is it so easy to get it nowadays in Casa? what are the formailities & costs? I'm a polish passaport holder, does it make any difference to the Mauris? I'll be travelling after the 1th of May so actually with a a EU pass.
Is my dream of hitching from Tidjikja to Oualata via tichit feasible in mid May?any tourist there @ that time (everelse?)

I had to go through the process at Casablanca twice, it was 10 Euros/100 Dirhams before Christmas, then went up to 20 Euros/200 Dirams. No interview, just fill out a form, two photos, photocopies of the information pages of your passport (theres a photocopy booth down the road), and wait. One possible problem is that they dont give you more than a month from the date of issue. Since we where cycling down we did have to chat with the consul to give us more time than that.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
