Papers for Niger and Burkina Faso
Firstly, thanks to all those producing info about Mauri and Mali.
Anyone know the best way to get a Niger visa, approaching from Mor/Mau/Mal side? Also does anyone know whether you need a carnet for Niger and Burkina Faso? [It seems the BF visa is easily obtained at the border.]
(First hand experience would be good ~ I came across a list of those countries that officially require a carnet - it includes Belgium and Italy!)

About Burkina Faso i am pretty sure, my sister lives over there:
1) As long as i know, a visa can NOT be obtained at the border. However the procedure to get one is very straightforward here in their ambassy in Brussels (bring in passport between 9 and 12, pickup the same day in the afternoon)
2) You don't need a carnet. You do need an insurance and a temporary import document. If you are coming from Mali, you best buy a Carte Brune, which contains both and is valable in the whole ECOWAS-zone (which should contain Niger as well.

Hi,
About a year ago I got a visa for Burkina-Faso at the border with no problem (coming from Niger). Also you don't need a carnet for Burkina.
Cheers,
José
