Here is the third part. I notice that it uses the word runway for "piste". It is sometimes confusing, when you read runway it should mean "piste"

Faya toward the east leave, after 8km control by the gendarmerie, 28km east Faya with N17°57`10 ", E19°09`28 "marked branch after" OK ONE "= Ounianga Kebir.
Well recognizable, but neither located, nor runway marked on kiesigem, partial sandigem underground. After 209km one reaches lowers the Wadi Doum with individual huts. After further 18km with N18°29`52 ", E20°14`57 "the formerly Libyan attachment barrier for the defense of the tschadischen troops during the back conquest north Chad. Only 1km the far fenced mine belt with many destroyed tanks and rough-terrain vehicles. NOTE: All-highest danger when leaving the runway. Within range before the barrier to behind the airport the runway and of them traveled by Wadi Doum in no case fresh traces abandoned, in no case the fenced range enter, numerous, sharp mines!
Airport of Wadi Doum, N18°29`52 ", E20°14`57 ", military control, those on request and against cigarettes and change evtl. proudly shows the destroyed Libyan military plants.
Those lowers from Ounianga Kebir, N19°03`12 ", E20°29`28 "after 80km mostly sandiger runway is reached. Ounianga Kebir, oasis at the Lac Yoa, very pictorial lain, whose water is very strongly salzhaltig. Most elementary basic food can be bought, occasionally also to fuel. The trucks with commodity, arriving of the north from Libya over Kufra and Matan as Sarah, unload here not, but drive on after Faya.
6) Ounianga Kébir - Ounianga Sérir - Fada: Ounianga Kébir after Ounianga Sérir (spoken Unianga Sachir) 56 km, from there can be driven with a particularly ortskundigen leader over the depression from Mourdi to Fada. No further information available.
7) Ouadi Doum - Fada: Here on 373km a often used caravan route does not lead a runway, but isolated traces along. Sandige, by sections stony runway with difficult crossing of a small dune area. With the reaching of the Ennedi of mountains grandiose landscape with wonderful rock needles in sandigen levels. Again increasing, but still meager settling. Fada, province capital of the Ennedi, message with the prefecture necessarily, market with basic food, fuel. Trip to the 73km Guelta removed d`Archei, for N16°54`04 ", to recommend E21°46`30 "urgently. Enormous Canyon with permanent water place, at which the surrounding Nomaden soaks its camel and herds of goat and seizes even water. Water by Tierexkremente extremely gets dirty.
8) Fada - Biltine - Abéché in the proximity of Fada well marked, sandige runway. Later no further markings, but well visible traces. Quick travel with rough-terrain vehicles possible. The Oum registered on the maps - Chalouba with its military basis is not reached, but after approx.. 180km the 20km Kalait lain northeast started. In the Kalait checkpoint, simple market, evtl. Fuel. After 110km Arada becomes and after further 65km the substantially better supplied Biltine with large market, fuel, bread. Starting from Biltine located, runway quickly which can be driven on z. T. on dam put on Abéché removed in the 92km. In Abéché fuel from barrels available, large market, simple workshops, baker's shop, simple restaurant, no bank, Sudanese consulate, which does not give a visa.
9) Abéché - Adré - El Geneina (the Sudan) with departure followed from Abéché control of the documents at the arterial road, of good runway up to very sandiger Oued passage and impact tree, located by 60km. Afterwards good, occasionally sandige, untrassierte runway by Savannenlandschaft. After 166km Adré with border formalities Chad. Few kilometers far Sudanese border post, which makes papers controlled however still no entry dispatching. Still before the 39km removed El Geneina takes place the customs clearance of the Sudan.
In El Geneina banks, large market, fuel supply questionably.

The SUDAN
10) El Geneina - Nyala - El chamfer ago: Good, broad runway in the 154km removed Zalingei, off there excellent tar route to Nyala.
In Nyala all supplying possibilities, evtl. Difficulties with fuel. Drive on in northern direction toward harder, more broadly, not missing runway toward El chamfer ago.
El chamfer ago: Market, evtl. Fuel.
11) El chamfer ago - Mellit - Karabatum - Jabal aluminium Uweinat (Libya): NOTE! The entry coming to Libya over Jabal aluminium Uweinat, from the Sudan, is thus permitted by the Libyern only Arabs! The entry refuse can have dramatic consequences. The Libyer refuses also the departure from Libya to Europeans into the Sudan, while the Sudanesen does not have objections against their entry.
NOTE! From El chamfer ago to Karabatum on 900km deep, soft sand, however no dunes. It must be counted on very high fuel consumption on this very large distance. That MERCEDES 290GD needed over 40l/100km. Starting from El on Wednesdays and Sundays a truck convoy drives chamfer ago into 5taegiger travel after Kufra.
Exit from El chamfer ago in northern direction toward deep sandigen traces over enormous, reddish, very flat, bewachsene sand fields. After 36km with N13°58`32 ", E25°27`47 "village Umm Marahik with small supplying possibility. Drive on in deeply brought in traces in the sand into the 35km removed Mellit N14°07`39 ", E25°32`06 ".
Mellit: Good water can be seized from wells with motorpumpe. Amazingly large city with relatively good supplying possibility, market, fuel, customs office, police, Security

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
