Trips around merzouga
We are planning trip to morocco in late march 2006 and are looking for special trips around merzouga. There should be an oasis inside erg chebbi. Has anyone special information about this. Please let me know.
Thanks Markus

Google merzouga and oasis, you'll find lots of links.
Otherwise, what sort of trips are you after? Merzouga is the start of Chris Scott's 'M6' piste.

Hi there.
We have just returned from a trip to maroc, and Merzouga was one of the places we visited. There is plenty of places to stay and base yourselves for journeys into and around the dunes. We made time for a complete day just driving around them in a 4x4, but decided to camp out when we reached the far side. A great two day trip. There are camel trips on offer too! If you approach them from the center of Erfoud town, the tarmac finishes approx 20 km before the dunes and gives you a good sense of arriving. Much better than taking the tarmac from Rissani. the following waypoints will take you to the hotel Merzouga, but personally, i chose to camp instead. N31.05.381 W004.00.307
Hope this is useful, best wishes for your trip,
Nick.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
