"Zerzura Club"
I am pleased to annunce the "rebirth" of the glorious "Zerzura Club", originally founded at the Greek Bar of Wadi Halfa in November 1930; and now refounded at Segrate (Milano), Italy on the 6th November 2004.
The aim of the club is always the same: to find the "Atlantis of the Sands"!
Any person interessed to this initiative, please contact me at:
pyr@fastwebnet.it
We are waiting for new members to the "Elusive Oasis"!!!

Two things cross my mind
a) Dont you think this is a little presumptuous?
b) What if we cant read Italian?

Sorry, this is only a temporary problem: in about one month I hope for a complete English traslation about all it is now written in Italian, and also the creation of a new international website devoted to Zerzura and to "lost oases" generally speaking.

6 x 2200 km off road = 1 clutch cable. These Adventures are pretty indestructable. Fantastic trip a long way from any civiliation. The Gilf and the Great Sand Sea are well worth the logistics.

Some mates of mine in Cairo have had real reliability issues... which mechanic are you using? One in Maadi?

Heh Runner,
Have used the one in Maadi, sometimes good, sometimes slightly less than perfect.
A couple of the guys know KTM's inside out and generally we sorted the bikes all together, under their instruction.
Still quite surprised to manage that terrain, including some very rocky bits, with no dramas and not even a puncture.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
