Info and moto storage in Vancouver/Calgary

Hi Guys, I'm presently in Tucson waiting for a bit for my moto and expect to be mobile and heading for Alaska by early next week. Firstly anyone got any suggestions for the way north, I've already penciled in the major national parks and expect, weather permitting, to arrive in Alaska early June. Secondly, I was going to head for Africa at the end of this Americas trip but the state of the £ has put the kybosh on that plan so I am looking to leave the moto in Vancouver/Calgary for July and August when I will return to Scotland to see if the house is still there and check my mail then return to Latin America where I can afford the food and . So, anyone got garage space for a battered BMW while I fly home and back, a bottle of decent malt for the successful applicant. Ride safe.

Still no offers?

I'd gladly let you store it in my garage for a few months IF I can make enough room!
Right now it is packed with my bikes and things, but a bit of clean-up would likely find room for one more bike to squeeze in if you're in a pinch. I'd hate to see anyone stuck just because of lack of bike storage.

PM me if you don't yet have an arrangement.

I live in Abbotsford, BC and would be happy to store your bike at my home. It will be in a secure, heated indoor room. If you would like to stay a few days that will be fine. I can also transport you to and from the airport.

Hi Guys, thanks for the offers, one of the Community guys in Calgary has offered the use of his storage facility which he reckons has lots of spare space and sounds ideal. However, if anyone is up for a few s in Calgary in about a 7/10 days time look out for a "Cocktails in Calgary" in the N. America section. Ride safe.

Hi everyone

I'm in a similar situation! I am flying the bike (BMW F650 GS) out to Alaska in July and am hoping to ride about for a bit and head down the Rockies to end up in Calgary in September.

I would like to leave the bike in Calgary from September until spring 2010 and need to find secure storage for it over the winter. I am happy to pay for a corner of a store or garage.

If anyone is about for a around 10 July or again in mid-September then I'd love to meet up and gain some local knowledge of the area.

Cheers
Kate

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
