Leaving a bike to US for few months
Hi all,
So it seems that I need to leave my bike to US for few months while I fly to europe.
I have read that people have been doing this before without any problems (even EPA rule says I cannot leave the country without my bike).
My question is: Did customs ask about your motorcycle when you left the country / returned back?

No problems at all. We left the bikes for 6 months. When we left the final time, the bikes were still with the shippers so its difficult for them to check as they don't stamp your passport when you bring them in so no worries within the USA.

I couldn't imagine that your bikes are tied into your passport (tied in, or connected, via computer).
In other words, I am fairly certain that when you are checking in at the airport, no one will put your name into the computer, and then suddenly ask "what about your motorcycle?" You should have no issues doing this, other than finding a place to store the bike.

Hi Hemuli,
no problem.
We have our 2 bikes in the USfor over 1 year already (with a trip to baja inbetween) and went back to Europe twice again.
Not one question at the airport.
Cheers Thomas
