had some flooding and weather damage last fall, not sure if they got everything paved before it got too cold, but regardless, even a harley trailer queen could handle that road.
Very unlikely you would find any snow come may (perhaps a freak snow storm, very rare) but you should be prepared for some colder temps as the downdrafts through the mountains come off some snowy slopes.

The road should be no problem for your Beemer but the winters can run late in the Chilcotin.... A very large area on the Chilcotin Plateau sits at 4000-5000 ft elevation so May could still be a transition month ... The later you go in May the better....

Anahim Road
Search for Anahim Road or Heckman Pass Road in Google Images and you'll get lots of pics from other travellers. And as Kevan noted, Drive BC has an Anahim Lake webcam.
Also check BC Ferries for their spring/summer schedule out of Bella Coola. That way you could do a loop if you wanted.
The area can get lots of rain which may be as much of an issue as snow. The highway was out of commission last late summer fall, due to rain. It was back up after a few days though.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
