Crossing borders on domestic passport?
As there are a few members (national citizens) on here from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan & Kazakhstan who have traveled across land borders i would like to know if is it possible to cross borders from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan & Kazakhstan on domestic passports or does it have to have to be international ?
I know most you guys in ex USSR country's have two passports both domestic (the red one) and international
Reason for asking is me and my friend who is a Tajik national are crossing from Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek) to Kazakhstan (Almaty) and the Tajikistan national has to leave there international passport (blue one) in Kazakhstan for a visa application process so is planning to cross back to Kyrgyzstan on the domestic passport (red one) and then back to Kazakhstan on the domestic passport (red one) to collect the international passport (blue one) once visa application has been processed
On numerous flights from Tajik to Russia i have seen Tajik locals using the red domestic passport which the passport control sometimes don't like and make them wait to the side whilst international passport holders are processed first and after a long debate they are processed
