Difficulties In Shipping To Russia
The shipper from NZ has just sent this through, I am wanting to ship my WR250R from New Zealand to Russia to Magadan or Vlad.
I am battling to find a service for your bike via sea freight……I have also been advised that Russia has a non-acceptance of personal effects policy
I am looking at this via an airfreight perspective……however I have been asked to provide a MSDS (Material Safety data Sheet) for the bike – are you able to supply this?
Can anyone here spread any light on this or even point me in the right direction to find out more info so I can keep the wheels turning?
TIA.

Hi there,
If you are looking to ship to Vladivostok and need a receiving agent, the guy you probably want is Yuri Melnikov at Links Ltd. He's been sending and receiving motorbikes for people for a long time, he helped me get my KLR650 into Vlad from Cambodia in 2016. The best way to reach him is through Whatsapp +7 902 524-34-47 (this is the primary way people communicate in Northern Asia).
Regarding air freight, at least when I tried two years ago, the biggest problem was there were no wide-body aircraft that flew in or out of Vladivostok, and a motorcycle needs a container that only fits in a wide-body plane. Things may have changed, but that was my experience, and why I had to ship by ocean freight.
Let me know if you have any other questions I may be able to answer.

Thanks, domi, yes been in contact with Yuri and all systems go, going in via South Korea then the ferry to Vlad.
No LCL sea freight direct into Russia so add a step...easy ...I hope.
