This is on a bike probably?
I am not sure how well they check bikers (not because bikes, but because they are guys travelling alone)
We travelled as a family with a campervan, with the drone somewhere in the back. Checks were usually very light, only open a few cupboards. But that is if you are travelling with a family.
Drone into Russia should be allowed, but the local customs guys may think otherwise.

However, Uzbekistan is the worst. There have now been several stories of people who literally had to break their drone at the border on command of the customs guys, to be able to cross the border.
With us, they did not see the drone. But I also did not use the drone in Uzbekistan.

Mmm,breaking up an expensive drone would leave a sour taste in anyones mouth. I may do more research on this,I would of thought it might be a regular quiry on this site as so many people are using drones these days. Certainly harder to hide on a bike.Perhaps buy a cheaper drone and risk it..

Or, buy a drone in Dushanbe (check if possible) or Bishkek or Almaty (defintely possible, many shops)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
