From Mongolia (UB) to France (Paris)

Hey guys!

I'm currently planning a trip from Mongolia to France for this summer over 3 months.
I plan to go home through Mongolia, Kazakhstan Russia and then Ukraine and Europe.
I wanted to ship a French Transalp 600 by truck or plane to UB but I'm leaving France in 1,5 months and it's clearly too short. So, I'm looking for other options.
I have seen many stories on how to buy a motorbike in UB with a translator and more. Do you know if it's possible to find something like a Honda Transalp in UB? Which price?

My question is the following: Is it possible to drive in Europe with a mongolian motobike without a CDD and then register the bike in France. If the bike is similar to a EU model? I think that I will have to pay for the import taxes and stuff like that. But I'm scared to be stuck at the EU border...

Any help much appreciated!
Clement

First:
You can buy Transalps in Mongolia.

At Oasis guesthouse they have one for sale.

But I think, that the paperwork and Taxes and all that will bring you a lot of costs and troubles.
As far as I know you can buy a Motorcycle there, but not register it in Mongolia ( unless you live there. )

Why dont you ask Loxx Pan Europa in Hamm for a solution?
They are shipping lots of bikes in both directions.

Hi Clement,

maybe this man can help: a german called Vait owns a company in UB organizing motorcycle trips in Mongolia.

LINK

Maybe he sells (used and registered) bikes as well??? Hopefully your plan will come true!!!

klausmong1 and Ralf1150GS Thank you for your answers!

FIrst, I don't plan to use Loxx Pan Europa because of the time factor.
I'm living France in 1 month and nobody will be here in France able to buy, drive and pack the motobike ready for exportation.
I'm going to send a mail to a profesionnal export/import manager. I will show you the answer ! I was working on a partnership with MASH. Maybe I could ask them to ship the bike to BU. But i'm scared to do this trip with this bike.
Do you think that a professional retailer in France know or is able to ship a bike to BU ?

And thank you Ralf for the Website i'm going to write an Email to him !

As I said, in Oasis they sell one, and a guy called Chinzorig also sells some Transalps.

And Oasis also knows this guy....

Hey!
NEWS: I talked to a French who did the silk road last year.
He explained me that to get in the EU Zone I juste needed to legally own the motobike with all the importation and legal pepers and then that I could do a temporary importation in the EU Zone !

Only to legally own it or also legally register it?

to legally own you just have to buy it.

But then it is still not registered.

Might be interesting fore anyone else too....

Or should we keep informations secret?

I did that 3 times now. from Mongolia to Austria.

This year it took me 11 days to gt back to Vienna.

I had to go a bit quicker, because wa had an accident in Mongolia and lost a lot of time. ( my driving partner crashed into me with about 120kmh because he was not concetrated )

But there you have to drive long days.

only RUssia took 7 1/2 half days.
But to be true, I would only go for this option if I have no time at all and have to hurry up.

Ukraine can be done in 2 days. same her.

HI Folks,

I live in Mongolia and my name is Chinzo Klaus mentioned earlier I have few bikes for sale in Ulaanbaatar including Transalps we do bike rentals and tours. I sold couple bikes in the past most of them rode to Europe and most of them were bought from people who rode from Europe I can get it registered under buyers name it will have a Mongolia registered title and number plates also can give contacts of previous owner if that's a help to get it registered back in Europe.
We also started building bikers guest house in Western Mongolia Bayanulgi 100 km from Russian border we can get off road tires, spare parts and logistical support to whoever might be in need in this part of the world from next season.

Hi Chinzo Klaus!

That's wonderfull and what you are doing is great !

I guess if the bike come from Europe and that we have the past owner name it can only help toi get the bike register in Europe.
Sorry for asking, but How much approximately cost a Transalp in UB?
I can't find any price on the web.

Clement
