Fue Costs in the USSR
Can anyone tell me the price of DIESEL in Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia?
In 2007, I seem to remember Kazakhstan being slightly cheaper than Russia, by a whisker.
Thanks
Daniel

Russia
A Litre of diesel was around 19roubles in Moscow this week (about 42pence). Prices vary slightly between filling stations and better known brands cost slightly more but the quality is more reliable.
Petrol is about 22roubles for 92octane. It increases in cost the further east you go. On remote stretches of the Trans Siberian Highway it is about 30% more.
Off main roads it can be a sellers market - if they are prepared to sell to strangers at all. In one mining town on the siberian arctic circle we had to plead long and hard to be allowed to buy 15 litres of 78octane at double the normal rate in those regions.

Petrol prices from 2009: Diesel is usually slightly cheaper (10-15%)
My average in Russia was about 0.60 EUR per litre.
Its about 0.50 in Kazakhstan
And about 0.75 in Mongolia
