Fuel for stoves
We took a 11Kg bottle of calor gas and supplemented it the a 'Kelly kettle', also know as a 'volcano' kettle for boiling water were ever practicably. This setup lasted the length of our 6 months camping trip throughout Russia and the Stans. I haven’t got around to weighing the bottle, to see how much gas is left, so I am not sure how close we were to running out! We did see gas bottles out there but not often, but at any town in Russia if you asked, I’m sure you could get one and discard yours. The Kelly kettle just burns twigs you find lying around, it was worth its weight in gold. These multi fuels stoves can burn diesel, though more messy, but if that all you have it will do.
