Invitation to Kazachstan, where to get one

Hello Riders!

I'm planning to visit Kazachstan next summer. As you probably know, I need an invitation from someone in Kazachstan to get entry visa. Do you have any expierience with this? Or maybe there is someone from Kazachstan on this forum and could help me out. As for today, there are 3 motorcycles and 5 people for this trip. I don't know if there can be something like "mass invitation" or should each one of us have this pice of paper.

Thanks for any help on this.

Regards,
Pawel (data7)

You can ask friends in Poland
You need LOI (Letter of Invitation) to get a visa in embassy. It is easy to get it. You can organize it in Warsaw (about 50 USD per person) or by internet in Kazakhstan (about 30-35). Use google and put LOI and Kazakhstan and you will get answers.
Have a luck and go East!

**** hotel with good cancelation policy

What I've done in the past is to book a few nights in a four star hotel with a good cancelation policy. Get the invitation from the hotel, get the visum, cancel the reservation and off you go...

Contact Stantours (www.stantours.com), they are based in Almaty and are very helpful with motorcycle travel in the 'Stans. They will most certainly get you what you need.

I will also recommend David from Stantours, very helpful, developed a network of motorbike contacts and fair value as far as LOI go, plus he is a nice bloke. We had extenive dealings with him in 2003.

Thanks for your reply.

P.S. Sambor, I must say, that it is your trip to Kirgistan that inspired me to go to Kazachstan

Cross your fingers guys

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
