Magadan to North America - updates on options?

Hi All... Just changed the title of the thread to be a bit more meaningful in the hope of gaining some traction...

Hi All,
Apologies, but I'm struggling to find recent updates on how best to do this. I'm hoping to arrive in Magadan in mid July. I wish to get myself and my bike to North America - preferably Anchorage, as I plan to ride from Prudhoe bay to Ushuaia.

From what I can gather, it seems to be a matter of getting my bike, and hopefully myself too, onto that weekly cargo ship from Magadan to Vladivostok and then taking a ferry to South Korea and from there organizing air freight to North America. I'm guessing that Anchorage will be more expensive than for example San Francisco as I believe there are not any direct flights from Seoul to Anchorage. That said, I'd settle for San Francisco as I have contacts there and I could surely get the bike up to Anchorage in a truck at a later stage as I don't plan doing Prudhoe bay to Ushuaia until next year.

So, has the above method via Seoul become the proven norm or are there other proven methods that may be either more direct or not so expensive??

Would appreciate any advice

So initial enquiries through Yuri in Vladivostok is US$1650 to Vancouver then up to about US$700 to clear in Vancouver.

So how much more than US$2,350 would it cost to air freight???

Anchorage June 2017

Hi,

I'm starting my trip to Argentina from Anchorage in June 2017 as well.

It'd be great to hook up if your timescales coincide as well.

Cheers!

Hi there, I'm curious what you were able to find out as I'm looking at a similar plan myself.
