mechanic in barnyaul

Hi. So as my bike continues to fall apart, im faced with an electrical/ignition issue that i cannot properly diagnose. I can ride (except washboard), and am in Ulaangom, heading West. I heard that there's a good mechanic in Barnyaul - i have the gps coordinates.

Is he likely able to deal with electrics (im assuming its a loose wire/cap if lucky, faulty ECU if not), or do i need to look for a specialized BMW dealer? (The closest is Almaty, and after 4 weeks of trying to set up a time to see them, they dont seem to want to serve me).

thanks

The bmw dealer in Almaty is useless and has has no diagnostic tools. They are in the bike selling business not tge servicing and repair business.

Go to Victor in Barnaul. If he cant fix it then revisit the question. The answer will still not be Almaty bmw

Smile Barnaul Repairs

This is Victor ,, Walter is talking about ,, originally mentioned by Tony ,,

Also go hang out at the "Biker Bar" downtown Barnaul ,, a great bar-restaurant in the basement ,, owned by the Barnaul chapter president,, Yuri and his wife.
These guys gave me great welcome last year at the 2012 Siberian Biker Festival there.

Also not too far from there a great titty bar ,, 30 dollars a pop.. had fun .. and real Dom. One dancer kept saying ,, stay stay ,, you are a beautiful man. Glad I didn't believe her.

Hi Phillip, Viktor is on holidays. He might be back on Monday, but it's not certain. Tomorrow we will be changing the oil and tires there, so if we have more info I'll post. Cheers, Greg

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
