Out of Vlad by truck
Hi,
I'm scoping out a tour through Siberia and around the Eastern Sea, and I'm trying to get information on this Russian Korean ferry crossing...
It might be easier asking one of yous what's actually there... can anyone tell me if they can fit trucks and buses on this boat and how much it all costs? And whether it sails right through the winter?
Any help much appreciated. Little on the net in English....

I put my motorbike on the ferry, from Korea to Russia. It cost be about $250USD. I know that they do carry cars and trucks all the time, but i am not sure how much they cost.
After I entered Russia (three months ago) i heard a small roumour that they are stopping temporary imports into Korea - you may want to check up on this. I used Wendy Choi to do my paper work. As i was short of time and needed to catch the boat in a hurry. If you give her an email, im am sure she will answer all your questions.

Ferry to Vladivostok
I was there in May 2008 and used "Dong Chun ferry" from Sokcho, Korea to Vladivostok. at night I sniked and toured the ferry at bottom decks and my goodness, it was huge. I saw buses, trucks, huge earth mover euipments and all those.
No problem. you can take almost anything.
Just make sure the your "Bill og Landing" document details out every detail.
Good luck

Dong Chung Ferry
I took the Dong Chung Ferry from Zarubino (100Km south of Vlad) to Sok Cho August 2008. For some reason I wasn't charged for the bike,.. only paid for 'passenger'. Overnight Ferry, .. lots of room for trucks and buses. Get 'Prices' from Dong Chung Offices in Hyundai Hotel in Vladivostok.
No on the ferry, .... so take your own. Lots of sleeping room in the lowest class and food on board is ok.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
