Selling a bike in Mongolia / Charity Ride

Hey Peeps, this is my first post here although I have been lingering for a few years. I hope this is the correct section!

I wondered if anybody could advise on the possibilities of selling a UK registered motorcycle in UB Mongolia after a trip.

I have done a search and not found a great deal.

My goal is to organize a charity event on bikes no bigger than 125cc and costing no more than £1000. Ride them from London to Mongolia through Europe, Turkey, the Stan's and sell them in UB.

I am hoping to get a group of people together to set off in Spring/Summer 2016. I am going to organize and promote this myself, then guide the tour with each individual raising as much money as possible for our chosen charity (Still undecided which one and the riders will have their say).

This will be a free event with the pledge to donate the full amount that the motorcycle is sold for in UB to charity plus an additional £500 from each rider in fundraising. Hopefully reaching our target of £10,000 minimum.

Anyway my main question at this point is what are the possibilities and potential pitfalls of selling our motorcycles in Mongolia?

They will most likely be Honda CG125's Yam YBR125 etc, Honda C90's and a like.

Thanks in advance

I haven't heard of the Mongol Rally but that sounds a good place for me to start my research.

I don't care if it's 'copying' something else, there is nothing new under the sun (certainly not riding a bike to Mongolia) and I like to think this is for a good cause. Both in the fundraising and supplying enjoyment and life experience for any participants taking place.

Any constructive help or advice would be greatly received.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
