Shipping car by sea From Russian East coast

Does any one have any info on shipping a car by sea from Magadan or Vlad. to Alaska. The best route to US is via Korea but would prefer to land in US Alaska.

A fellow biker we met in Vlad this summer, shipped his bike to USA (Seattle I believe) by sea. It went in a container. Presumably the same can be done with cars - unless you have a Hummer?

Try TRANSFES Maritime Agency.

Richard. Summer 2008 I tried to ship my bike Vlad to Alaska but no joy. Ended up taking Ferry from Zarubino to Sok Co in South Korea, and then shipped bike from Busan to Seattle.

In Vladivostok we received too much conflicting information and finally decided that at least in South Korea, using Wendy Choi of Aero International, we could get straight answers to our questions. It is possible to Ship from Valdivostok to North America (Alaska) but having a Bike meant sharing an existing container. With a 4-Wheel, you might be luckier and have more choice of vessels.

Good Luck .... Geoff

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
