Uk coast
Hi, always have a word when see someone " living the dream".
Anyway I met a guy called Jamie THIS MORNING IN EASINGTON, NR LOFTUS, CLEVELAND or North Yorkshire. ts13 4
Bicycle loaded up with camping gear. I had a chat , his job had finished and he was taking the opportunity to ride the coast of the UK. Wild camping and sounded like he was on a budget.
He started in Blackpool and done 3500 miles so far in clockwise rotation.
He ridden up and around Scotland and heading for Whitby and Filey today.
He reckoned enough cash for about 7-8 weeks. Brilliant adventure and was enjoying time out of the rat race.
His bike was a black DAWES nowt special, if you see this guy have a chat and get him a coffee.
He said his biggest and only cost was food, because of amount of calories he was burning.
Cheers

Thanks for sharing this Andy, it is something I have fancied doing either on a bicycle or small motorbike, it is a shame about the weather he must have encountered but hats off to the man for sticking with it.

hi,
jamie is my dad and he asked me to come online here to firstly say thanks to ANDYDK and secondly let people on here know he is trying to accomplish something while on the bike ride by raising funds and supporting Palestinian children
http://fundraisers.everyclick.com/su...inian_children
(the picture on the fundraising page is deceptive... he has twice as much stuff)
p.s. and if anyone wants to give him a personal donation to keep him out of my hair for another week or two longer it would be much appreciated...
cheers,
luke
edit: and mark, he had been quite luck with the weather although having some terrible days and nights, while we where having torrential rain and flash flooding ruining the area he was sunning himself in the Scottish highlands. however i think recently the weather hasn't been so on his side...

Congratulations on a successful ride, not easy particularly in the dreadful weather we have been having,

When he gets too much send him off on another ride, we have plenty of ideas here, overland to India, Alaska to Tierra Del Fuego, plenty to keep him busy

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
