After 10 years of ownership here in New Zealand (north island at the moment) I'm moving back to the USA and selling “Yoko”, my much-modified Toyota Townace 4X4 motorhome. Over NZ$15,000 in upgrades and that doesn't count my labor. Vehicle is fully equipped (yank strap and shackles, folding chairs, folding table, cutlery, plates, pots, pan, etc), needs nothing and is ready to go. I can provide information on all aspects of vehicle ownership in NZ, camping and off-road trips to take. For more information, see the following ad on New Zealand's equivalent of eBay:

Comfortable and warm and a nearly perfect vehicle to explore the real New Zealand. Can park up unsupported for about 18 days before needing more LPG.
Vehicle: Toyota Townace truck (with traditional ladder type frame, not a unibody like the more common van version), 205Kms, standard part time 4X4 Toyota driveline with five speeds high range and five speeds low range, open diffs front and rear, 3 can sit legally up front (one seat in the center is a narrow, lap belt only “jump” seat).
Engine: 2 liter non-turbo diesel maintained to a high standard (recent fuel injector overhaul, injector pump timing set, cam belt, preventative overhaul of radiator, preventative replacement of water pump and all idlers, fresh belts, fresh coolant hoses, all parts factory Toyota). Fuel economy is about 1 liter per 9Kms.
Truck chassis: suspension lifted up to empty truck ride height (most of the campers these vehicles are based on are sitting on the rear bump stops, just as this one was), front anti-roll bar added along with firmer bushings, rear leaf springs added and re-arched (work done by Chamberlain Springs in Christchurch), custom made rear wheels fitted (wider and with greater offset, done by Elite Wheels in Christchurch) and all five wheels recently bead blasted clean & refinished with 3 stage powder coating, custom made powder coated snorkel fitted for safe water crossings, air horns, Light Skinz headlight covers, upgraded headlight bulbs, Cibie amber fog lamps, Sony AM/FM/CD/iPod compatible stereo with Rockford Fosgate speakers in camper and Pioneer speakers with separate tweeters in cab – can be remotely operated and turned off from the camper while in the lower bed.
Camper: Oversized fiberglass pop-top body from Japan; extensive added insulation (closed cell foam layers under the floor, pink batts added to empty interior walls spaces, ceiling lined); Webasto diesel furnace built-in, 230VAC resistance heater added; battery compartment modified to accept two 6 volt batteries with 220 amp hour capacity (and wired with very heavy duty cables for absolute minimal voltage loss – they are arc welding cables!); Blue Sky 2512ix MPPT solar charge controller with optional battery temperature compensation, Blue Sky IPN ProRemote battery analyzer (makes it dead simple to see how much battery power is left, ie “Battery Capacity 93%”), 135 watt solar panel mounted on roof with custom made powder coated wind deflector (and new gas struts installed to properly support higher roof weight); insect screens for all opening windows (including the truck) – all are sandfly proof!; the large rear pop-top window can be configured three ways: 1) completely open, 2) open but with new sandfly-proof insect screen zipped up, or 3) clear plastic window installed; high tech variable speed cold water pump installed (adjustable water flow just like at home); water tap inside van has 3 meter long hose that can reach outside if needed; all but one fluorescent interior lights converted to high output LED; two exterior high output LED lights fitted that make cooking and seeing outside at night a pleasure; exterior slide-out fitted that features a cold water tap with extension hose, a sink and storage area, and stainless steel “wings” that flip to provide necessary cooking space; previously inaccessible “dead” storage space has been accessed and made available with various yacht style closeable access hatches; the refrigerator has had proper cooling vents added so that it runs properly on LPG, a custom variable speed fan has been added in the kitchen to actually remove cooking fumes, and so much more than my brain melts trying to remember it all.
If there was an owners group for these (rare) vehicles in New Zealand I think I'd have to be the technical adviser!
