Hi, we drove our 1995 Disco down the west coast of Africa and arrived in Cape Town November 2007. We like it here and are going to stay so rather than go through the red tape of importing our beloved wagon we wish to sell it to someone driving it back up. It is currently registered in the UK so it would have to be a UK resident that would be buying it.
First the good stuff:
It has 160,000 miles on it but it had a new engine around the 120k mark. It starts first time every time.
Amazingly capable full time 4wd with decent fuel economy (we averaged 10 liters per 100k.)
It comes fitted with full length howling moon roof rack, Superwinch X9, duel batteries and battery monitor, shelving system, built in 2 plate gas stove.
We will also provide all the recovery equipment you will need - sand ladders, strops, d shackles etc.
It comes with 2 x 20 liter jerry cans with rack, 3 x 25 liter water containers and a Brownchurch water filter with shower attachment. And we will throw in all sorts of bits and pieces that you'll need on a trip like this.
We covered 16 000 miles with only a broken shock to complain about but since we have been in Cape Town we have fitted a new clutch kit, diff seals and have a full service history for it's time in the UK.
OK now for the bad:
It does have a little rust here and there.
There are scratches on the sides from jungle driving.
The transfer box has a leak, but we manage this by keeping an eye on the levels and topping up every 5-6 months.
We are asking £4000 for this fantastic vehicle and we will also provide accommodation for 2 people in Cape Town while you prepare for your trip and we can also help with advice and contacts for any preparation.
