Electrics
The electrical system was fitted by Jos Hartog (Cape Town) and consist of only high quality Victron components. Instead of fuses we use a DB board with breakers. All the lights are high quality LED’s. I think there’s 11 lights in all. The Ossewa has 2 solar panel options – a fixed 110watt panel on the roof (delivering 6 amps) and a portable 95 watt panel (delivering 5amps) which runs through a 15amp Victron MPPT solar controller. It enables you to camp in the shade and have a panel running – a 20 meter cable is included. The 220 V systems runs off a Victron 15 amp charger with a bluetooth smart dongle. With the Victron app you can monitor all electrical charging (solar or 220v). The vehicle is fitted with a 200 amp lead crystal battery in the back. Under the bonnet is a intelligent battery combiner that chargers both batteries. You can monitor the voltages of both batteries in the drivers seat via the BM2000 monitor of HBC systems. If the car battery is dead, you can start with your other battery via this system.
