For sale: 2004 Toyota Hiace 4x4 diesel campervan in Chile/Argentina in Aug/Sep
Hi,
we are on our way to Ushuaia and are planning to sell our trusty van at the end of our journey. Here are the details:
Model: Toyota Hiace 4x4 (longer version)
Year: 2004
Engine: 75 kW D4D 2KD-FTV diesel
Average consumption: mixed dirt/paved roads - 10 l/100 km (24 mpg US), paved roads less than 9 (26 mpg US)
Estimated mileage at the end of our journey: ca. 240 000 km / 150 000 mi
Fits into a regular shipping container.
Preparation, modifications and equipment:
- Timing belt change at 195 000 kms
- All 4 shock absorbers at 195 000 kms
- New lower ball joints at 195 000 kms
- New half-shafts in the front at about 200 000 kms
- BFGoodrich All-Terrain TA/KO tyres (×5)
- insulation (floor, roof, sides)
- simple and light camper modification - couch that folds out into a bed (Ikea mattress, 130×200 cm)
- lots of storage room (you can have more stuff than you will ever need, we do)
- propane tank + coleman propane stove (tested at 4000 meters asl. and above)
- large water container (ca. 27 l) (with a spout, easy to use)
- Waeco CDF-25 compressor fridge (cold everywhere, makes ice if you want to)
- roof rack (good for surfboards, bikes, etc.)
- largest Gordigear awning available - 2.5 meters (great for sun and rain protection)
- dual battery setup with a 145 mAh leisure battery - connected to the two starting batteries only when the engine is running - no risk of running all your batteries dead (keeps the fridge running for about 5 days without needing to start the engine)
- powerful US-made Fantastic Vent fan (that's really how it's called, great for those hot nights)
- LED lights in the interior (save battery)
- pots, pan, cutlery are included (proper ones, no collapsible nonsense)
- aluminium table (pretty large)
- two camping chairs
- Coleman oven (bakes pizza, bread, etc. and collapses into a little package)
- + some more stuff I probably forgot
Asking price: 7 999 EUR/10 999 USD (subject to change - if you are interested in the van, simply get in touch, we'll work something out)
Date of sale: August-September 2014
Location: Southern Argentina/Chile (other neighboring countries may be possible as well)
Get in touch, we'll be happy to answer all your questions:

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
