For Sale: Overland ready Hilux Southern Africa-NOW FOR SALE
Hey guys,
For sale is my 1993 Toyota Hilux

Body: Double Cab, SFA (Solid Front Axle) 300,000 KM on the vehicle
-40 MM body lift
-After market shocks (Gabriel Safari)
-Off road wheels
-BF Goodrich All terrain tires
-Heavy Duty Winch (Warn Wireless)
-Off road bumpers and lights
-Limited slip rear differential (Lock Right Powertrax)
-After-market radio and speakers with FM transmitter (JVC head unit and Sony Xplod speakers)
-Roof top tent (Howling Moon 2-person)
-Heavy duty Canopy
-Roof rack (4x Jerry cans for fuel, propane cylinder, shovel and axe)
Security:
Immobilizer, alarm, shifter lock
Spares:
2x spare tires, fuel pump, belts, fuel filters, air filter, oil filter, misc tools needed to work on the vehicle, required liquids, and a box of misc items like zip ties, fuses, light bulbs, adhesives, and hoses. 3 triangles and safety vests, bottle jack.
Service history:
A full service has been done by Allan (Mr. Toyota) on 11/29/2013 at AEW Auto in Cape Town. Allan specializes in Hiluxs and preparing them for overland trips. Brakes and carb completely overhauled on 05/22/2013. It is mechanically 100% and ready for a Southern Africa trip. I have receipts and paperwork regarding all the services. I change the oil and oil filter myself at 5,000 KM intervals.
Paperwork:
The vehicle is registered in my name in South Africa and transferring the paperwork will consist of taking the vehicle for a roadworthy and filling out some forms. I didn’t have a problem as a foreigner.
Extras included:
High lift jack, air compressor, tow ropes and tie downs. Cooler, camping chair storage boxes, stove, pots, pans, plates, bowls, and eating utensils. Sheets, blanket and pillows for tent. Detailed maps, travel books, and other guides.
Bottom line:
I bought this vehicle on 10/28/2013 and is currently for sale. I am in Namibia and willing to discuss options about meeting somewhere.
I paid 85,000 Rand for the vehicle before I started preparing it for my trip and put a lot more into it for the peace of mind knowing the engine, drive train and everything else is 100%. The sale price is 85,000 Rand or 8,500 USD or any other currency equaling the same amount.
This is a solid Hilux ready for an adventure. Are you???

Hi Daniel,
As you can read above, Im planning on ending my trip around the end of Feb to the beginning of March. I will most likely fly out of either Cape Town or Johannesburg so those two places would be the most convenient for me but I am willing to discuss other places if you would prefer meeting somewhere else.

Super interested, but want to start my cross-africa trip from Capetown in Jan 2014 already - any chance you want to sell the car in Jan already?

Hi Johannes,
August is a bit far off as I plan on ending my trip around the end of Feb to beginning of March. There are options of long term storage. You can search this forum and find reputable places in various countries that would charge around $30 USD a month for secure parking...

Hi, there. We are very interested in your vehicle and we see you are currently in Mozambique. We are in Tanzania but plan to fly to SA (preferably Cape Town) in the next few days to buy a vehicle.
Can you confirm it is still available?
And, are you heading to Cape Town and if so when?
We can be very flexible on where but time is slightly more important for us.
Hope to hear from you soon.
P.S. Hope you've had a great trip!
