I'm finishing our trip from Los Angeles to Ushuaia in our Landcruiser. We would like to sell the car in Argentina, but we are willing to negotiate that depending on which country suits you the best. We're planning on ending the trip around March/April 2018, so that's approximately when the car will be for sale. Before we entered Mexico we put the car to a test, and I am impressed with the durability. Nothing has broken on us!
The car has gone 240.000 miles by now (Guatemala) and we still have thousands of miles left. But the car is getting a full engine check in Panama, and if you're interested I'll give you all the paperwork on that. We don't want the car to break down, so we're doing a big deal out of maintaining it properly. I'm a general engineer, and I'm working on the car doing tests and whatmore four out of seven days of the week. Car passed California smog test in 2017.
Price: 6500USD
It's a classic Toyota Landcruiser, 1988, FJ62 built into an overlander. What comes with it:
- Big roofrack
- All the tools you need for a long distance trip
- Big spare tire installed under the car
- Four big compartments for storage that can be taken apart in order to fit people on the passenger seats
- Bed on top of storage system (good for stealth camping)
- Top of the line new shocks
- A splitcharging system with a VSR relay that automatically charges the car while driving without draining the cars battery. More batteries can be added with no problem whatsoever, but right now there's added 70amphour capacity.
- An electrical installation that allows you to use the cars fans during the night to get air circulation inside the car. Everything installed neatly in a plastic box between the front seats.
- Added leaf for rear leafsprings (due to extra overlanding weight)
- Thorough engine check
- Dents and scratches are being sanded down, given zinkspray and painted
- icecold A/C
- Electrical windows
What we are going to do more to the car:
- Tint the windows so they are as black as possible (for stealth camping)
- Install noise dampeners on front leaf springs (maybe add a new extra leaf to front leaf springs too)
- Maybe install solar panels
- Test the ignition timing
- A/C check in Panama city
Extra info:
- The car has a salvaged title due to the dent in the left rear corner
