Truck seat with removable seat fittings and tracking from Unwin Safety
I am selling a movable and removable seat and fittings set which I have recently removed from my truck. My truck is an 18t Mercedes and is only 5 years old which gives an indication of the seat type. It is modern and comfortable and the fabric is more like a car seat than the horrible PVC truck seats of years gone by.
These are pretty useful for times when you have an additional person in the van with you; it means you can have the extra space most of the time but in the event that you have an unwanted guest you can quickly drop the extra seat in, just don’t tell your mother in law.
Everything is in excellent condition including the seat fabric. Included is the following:
1. Two lengths of Unwin Safety tracking, fixed at the correct spacing to a thick aluminium plate. The plate is slightly corroded on the bottom but I will sand it back to clean ally. You just bolt it with 14 (M6? M8?) bolts to the floor of the van. The bolts are allen key and are countersunk into the rails themselves. The floor of my truck is 8mm steel tread plate so is very rigid; if you are bolting it to non-structural van floor it might be best to use some angle or at least some penny washers underneath to spread the weight
2. Two removable seat fittings which can easily be moved along the rails or removed totally. To move or remove the seat you just loosen the clamps by hand. You could fit any piece of equipment to these clamps that you ever need to move along the rails or remove from your van but the seat that was fitted is also for sale.
3. A truck seat with integral seat belt. The seat bolts with socket cap screws to the removable seat fittings. The seat is firm but comfortable and is pretty much identical to the drivers and passengers seats in the truck.
I will try to get some photos in the next few days.
The seat and fittings are currently in Tottenham in north London. The seat is rather bulky so delivery is likely to be expensive. I haven’t looked into pallet prices recently but I will do if collection isn’t an option.
Now for price! I honestly have absolutely no idea how much this stuff is worth, I suspect it was all fairly pricey when new but I’m not looking for stupid money. If I’m honest I would prefer to swap it for something I might need (I’m doing a full kit out so will consider anything) but if you would prefer to pay cash I suppose £70 sounds about right. If I’m way off the mark please tell me, although I don’t expect anyone to rush in and tell me I am selling myself short!
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Nick
