A simple question...

I have a Konica Minolta Dynax 7D SLR. One of the last sold, after KM had withdrawn from the digital market and sold rights to Sony. I know on the original Sony cameras used the KM lens mounting design and the first Sony DSLR was essentially a redressed, reworked Dynax 5D.

So, can anyone confirm if

a) Sony and Sony ccompatible lenses are still compatible with my Dynax mounting system?
b) Is there any reason to suggest that the AF system has changed making a Sony lens on my Dynax (assuming they still mount) a MF only or not?

Basically I have a good spread of lens for my 7D: 28mm -400mm equivalent over 3 lenses, and up to 800mm if I decide to risk the teleconverter!!

However, I am undecided if I want to use my DSLR and compact on trips or just the compact and some slide film for my trusty CAnon AE-1 Program (I love that camera!!!). So a little investigation into 28-200/300mm SLR super-zooms, (without the super price), might be a good idea...

Nothing like buying gadgets under the pretext of making "practical preparations" for a trip, eh?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
