BMW, Ducati repair shop with 30 yrs experience. Jefferson, New Orleans, Louisiana

After clocking up over 68,000 miles riding through Latin America I return to the safety of U.S. roads only to be driven into the by an unobservant SUV driver whilst waiting at a red light. Thankfully it appears that my pannier system absorbed most of the impact but I limped on to New Orleans to find a reputable mechanic to help bend things back into place thus allowing me to continue with my trip.

A search on the internet helped me discover Chuck House, who had a string of five star references from satisfied customers, so I tracked him down. He just moved shops and I was fortunate enough to meet more satisfied customers there as well as people turning up on recommendation. It appears that this is one guy who's not suffering during the recession!

Best of all Chuck took me to lunch, paid for it, and then diligently bent my pannier frame back so I could use it again. And to top it all he refused payment asking instead that I pass on the goodwill to someone else on the road.

Chuck specialises in BMW, Moto Guzzi, Norton, Ducati & Triumphs, but I'm certain he is competent fixing many other motorcycles too.

You can find him at:

new address for Chuck house.

Thanks easyg for posting this. We had a problem with one of our bikes, oil leak.
We found the address quite easy but unfortunately he is no longer situated there.
He has now moved 2 streets down.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
