Arica, Chile - Dependable Moto Repair

Hey y'all

Had some serious issues with my 2006 KLR650 in Arica, Chile inlcuding a cracked cylinder. The guys at Angar Moto Repair did a great job welding and bringing the bike back to life. Full recommendation for any problems, big or small.
The workshop was recommended to me by the Chilean Police, to which they themselves take their motorcycles. The guys are well known in the town as the guys to see about moto maintenance and repair.

Juan Ruiz: +56 9 8555 2047
Javier Flores: +56 9 6841 5243

They speak zero English. FYI.

Direction: Avenida Azolas 2116
The shop can be found off Diego Portales at Avenida Azolas.
Big Orange Doors next door to used car lot.

I also went to the same shop in June 2016. They fixed my leaking forks on a BMW f800gs in one day. Good outcomes.

Hi all,

I live in Arica and I can only recommend to my mechanics. He is José Jimenez and is the owner of Importadora Mediterraneo located in Av. Tucapel 2806

José is a very good mechanic, with the only one BMW scanner in 700 km around. Also sales tires and motorcycle stuff (he is a dealer of Michelin and Continental for the north of Chile). As an importer, he has all the contacts to obtain the spare parts very quickly.

I saw many travellers in his store changing tyres (see pictures at https://www.facebook.com/importadoramediterraneo/ )

Regards

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
