careful with exotic bikes (brands they don't have in Peru)
I would be a bit careful with that one. I am sure they are very competent when it comes to dealing with local bikes, but I wouldn't let them anywhere near my bike again. And if you have a bike they don't know I would advise you to let them do only very basic stuff.
They convinced me that some adjustments in the engine needed to be done and now I am stuck with extensive engine damage (will have to order parts from Germany) in La Serena, Chile, where I got to on a truck, the bike broke down in the middle of the Atacama Desert. The KTM mechanic here (luckily there is one) says it is due to wrong (i.e. tight) rocker arm adjustments. The parts that are damaged now were absolutely fine in Peru (I have seen them), so I suspect the damage has been caused by the work in the garage in Cuzco.
However, I blame America (in good South American fashion).

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
