having spent the day trying to find stuff in Dar, I've been talking with Hussein (top fellow) at Tuk-Tuk about taking pre-orders for tyres, chains etc so he can get the bits before arriving here. it seems that it takes 2-4 weeks so its worth giving him plenty of notice, but he's keen to provide a service halfway from Cairo to Cape Town. if you're planning to pass this way and need tyres etc etc call him on 0222110304 or fax 0222119742 or email tuktuk ((at)) raha .dot. com
