60,000km on my first trip... So far
My first bike was a Yamaha YBR 125. My second bike was (is) a 2009 BMW R1200GSA. The first time I ever rode anything bigger than the 125 was when the snow had melted enough that I could take out the GSA that was delivered over the winter.
The first time I went more than 50km distance on a bike was when I took my new GSA for an overnight camping trip in May 2009 to make sure I had everything I needed to travel.
My next trip started in late May 2009 and is still going. I've done over 60,000km through almost 40 countries- from Canada to Europe to Iceland to Iraq to Kenya.
My 2009 GSA might not look as pretty as other 2009s anymore, but I think the duct tape holding things together gives it character...

P.S.
Yes, I did post a link months back, but I'm feeling a bit more self-promoting now.

It's good to see you're still doing well. And again, you will have to pay us a visit again next time you're in Munich. And just like last time we won't take no for an answer
PS: your sock is still here, I'm keeping it till you get back

Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress in this period in history.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
