F800 UK Malta UK
A friend suggested a sailing trip out of Malta and rather than sit on a plane drinking for a couple of hours and a couple of hundred quid I decided to go spend four weeks going overland.
I bought the f8 last year as a one bike does all and have to say that i haven't warmed to it. A bit jack of all trades master of none. Wheel geometry compromises it as a road bike and weight and fragility compromises it off road.
However I did the trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. It eats motorways (air hawk 100% essential) and took 40c to 3c temps in its stride, took me through forest trails, up rocky tracks in the alps from sunshine to snow and even rode up over fields of volcanic ash in Sicily. I can't think of another bike that would have coped so well and with an incredible miserly fuel sniffing average of 61mpg. I still want a multi strata but the f8 is I have to admit a very capable bike
