This county is basically a huge lake with bits of tree-covered land between. For that reason for us it is not a real riding destination.

18. Russian federation

We only had a taste of the country on a 72 hour visa free visit without the bikes to St. Petersburg. We will be in Russia again on the way to Mongolia.

The Baltic States were another surprise for us. They are “European” on all counts and at a bargin price.

22. Germany

The riding here in Germany is stunning especially in the south. There is so much history here. They have the cleanest “cutest” and nicest villages. Beer, good food, and fun!

This is not much of a riding country, but it is steeped in world history. There are a number of very nice villages.

The cost of things here is outrageous. There is some nice riding in the Alps, but we think the Alps in Austria and Italy are better.

Austria is probably the most beautiful country we have seen yet. We never wanted to leave the stunning town of Rizlern. We will be back in the Alps next year.

Agh don’t go here on a weekend the hords of cross border shoppers are a nightmare. I think other than the tick mark we would have avoided this country.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
